Longmen Grottoes or Caves present in Henan province, China is recognized today as one of the World Heritage sites in the World. The scenic beauty of these caves situated along the Yi River is awesome. It is known that this site consists of 2345 caves, 2800 inscriptions on stone and lakh statues of Gautama Buddha. One can find treasure of Buddha statues everywhere at this site.
Longmen Caves
Around 316-907 B.C. during the reign of various dynasty kings these statues were carved from stones. The artistic intelligence exhibited by the workers in doing such a great task can be seen in these caves.
