Among wide number of temples available in Southern India, Thousand Pillar Temple at Warangal, Andhra Pradesh has a renowned history. It belongs to 12th century built by kakatiyan ruler Rudra Deva of Chalukyan Dynasty.

The temple comprises 1000 pillars marvelously carved and ornamented which add charm to this. The construction depicts the artistic skills of Chalukyas. It even consists of three shrines consecrated to Hindu Gods Vishnu, Shiva and Sun. The impressive black bull made of basalt in the temple is more attractive. The elephants cut out of rock, screens , sculptures and the space around is simply superb. It is surrounded by garden with small lingam stone cut structures. The sounds of birds, pleasant ringing sounds of temple bells and the pleasant environment all around are pleasing.
A trip to Andhra without a visit to this temple is no doubt an incomplete one.
